Coverage Maps by Herbarium:
These maps illustrate the geographic coverage for each herbarium that provides data to the PNW Herbaria database. The maps indicate the geographic strengths and weaknesses of each herbarium. There are four maps for each herbarium and taxonomic group. These show:
- Number of specimens: shows how many specimens the herbarium has for each county.
- Percent of specimens: shows how many specimens the herbarium has for each county, expressed as a percentage of the total number of specimens for that county from all herbaria.
- Number of taxa: shows how many accepted taxa the herbarium has for each county, based on that herbarium's specimens.
- Percent of taxa: shows how many accepted taxa the herbarium has for each county based on its specimen holdings, expressed as a percentage of the total number of taxa for that county from all herbaria. This illustrates how completely that herbarium documents each county's known flora.
