Oregon: Multnomah County, Portland, fenced ODOT overflow parking (including movie companies) and storage lot bounded by I-5 on West, Southeast Salmon street on South Water Avenue on East, and Taylor Street on North, and along South side Southeast Taylor ~ 53 - 67 paces (145-185) West of Water Avenue, just East of small parking space at West end of Taylor Street. Plants seen on Northwest side in patches up to ~20 paces (60) South of Taylor Street, and ~75 paces (210) West of Water Avenue, on East side at ~21 paces (60) South of Taylor Street. Irregularly South almost to the Salmon Street fence, then from barely West of the Water Avenue fence to ~76 paces (210) West of Water Avenue at the locked gate; also in numerous patches in Southeast part of lot diagonally from said locked gate on Southwest northeasterly, West of large Acer macrophyllum to site West of Water Avenue, ~ 21 paces (60) South of Taylor Street. Note: the distance from Salmon Street to Taylor Streetnted to be 70 paces (~190) and the distance from Water Avenue to the East edge of I-5 in 106 paces (~290). Elev. 30 ft
Moss covered areas of asphalt and concrete (sidewalk), occasionally thin, gritty soil as along Taylor Street sidewalk, in at least nine moss species; greenish to reddish or brownish, more or less common, sometimes a local dominant and densely clumped, the thousands of reddish plants seeming to colour the greenish mosses, occasionally solitary. Associates: (mosses identified by John Christy June 2010) Brachythecium albicans, Bryum agenteum, Ceratodon purpureus, Didymodon vinealis, Grimmia pulvinata, Pseudoscleropodium purum, Rosulabryum capillare, Scleropodium cespitans, Syntrichia ruralis, and Vulpia sp., Bromus rigidus, Hordeum murinum, Poa annua, Draba verna, Cardamine oligosperma, Senecio vulgaris, Stellaria media, Veronica arvensis, Cerastium glomeratum, C. semidecandrium (5547), Acer macrophyllum, Arabidopsis thalliana, Daucus carota, Epilobium sp, Hypochaeris radicata, Plantago lanceolata, Sonchus oleraceus, Trifolium dubium, Veronica arvensis. Plants 1- 15 cm, usually 2 - 10 cm tall and often branched; leaves more or less oblong-ovate in the smaller plants and unlobed to three lobed in the larger plants.
