Graminoid wetland ribbon fen toe of slope 3% sw-facing. Very poorly drained terric fibric organic cryosol, 95% moss cover dominated by Carex lugens, C. rotundata, Betula glandulosa, Andromeda polifolia with 10% open water. Revised to S. sphenophylla with the note, probably not S. arctophila because the ovary hairs are not refractive. It best fits S. sphenophylla with a few hairs on ovary beak. NEW YUKON SPECIES. EOID 981. Uncommon. Previously identified as Salix arctophila. Previously identified by B.A. Bennett, July 2008. 1 duplicate (CAN).
