Roadside ditch with standing water in some places. Silty soil with gravel. Edged with Salix and Picea. Associated with Cornus canadensis, Trifolium, Lupinus, Epilobium. Population an even mix of predominantly green-yellow and those that have red at the base of bracts. Fairly tall with tallest individuals decumbent. Multi-stemmed and distally branched. In or just past full bloom. Phenology: Flowers and Fruits.
