Steep, exposed limestone outcrops on a dry southeast facing subalpine slope, bordered below by blocky limestone talus; with Phlox diffusa, Phacelia hastata var. leptosepala, Fragaria virginiana, Saxifraga austromontana, Dasiphora fruticosa, Juniperus communis, Polystichum lonchitis. Petals pale pink; pinkish turions present at stem bases; stems evenly crisp-puberulent all around; stems in clumps, occasional in fine limestone scree. Phenology: Flowers and Fruits.
