Open sand on S-facing slope, with scattered Purshia tridentata, some Ericameria nauseosa; also Astragalus mulfordiae, Oenothera pallida, Phacelia hastata, Bronus tectorum, Sisymbrium altissimum, Chondrilla juncea. Subunit of 9 plants and 2 seedlings in large dispersed population in natural setting, some plants heavily browsed (by rabbits?), one plant more blue-green than typical; caudex open, much branched, longest stem to 6 dm (still growing), decumbent bases rooting at nodes, some pedicels reflexed (2 more plants at 43.6556 degrees N 116.1917 degrees W; 3? forming a single large clump at base of bitterbrush at 43.6557 degrees N 116.1921 degrees W; 4 large plants around bitterbrush on E-facing slope at 43.6563 degrees N 116.1915 degrees W).
