Sandy swimming beach with very sparse vegetation including Poa annua, Persicaria. Leaves opposite, petiolate, petiole base with rounded bumps on lower side, blade ovate, green, surface wrinkled between veins; fibrous-rooted annual, growing too late in season to flower; patch of ca 15 plants in damp sand just above water line. Phenology: Vegetative.
