Site includes about 100 feet of cliff along road and about 50 feet above road; note small culvert near this site; /- southwest facing, open rock cliff, banks, flat areas at their base and cliff underhangs, slope 0-ca. 150 deg., wet from seepage and low volume, seasonal waterfall. Associates seen 4-27-76 with 3357: Romanzoffia californica (3358), Saxifraga nuttallii (cf. 3384), S. cf. integrifolia, Mimulus guttatus var. depauperatus, Montia fontana, M. parvifolia, Rubus ursinus, grasses, Trifolium oliganthum (cf. 3385), Plectitis congesta (cf. 3386), Sedum spathulifolium, Cystopteris fragilis, Cardamine oligosperma, Microsteris gracilis, Hypericum perforatum, Nemophila sp., Berberis aquifolium, Tonella tenella, Delphinium sp. Additional associates seen 6-5-76 with 3357a: Potentilla glandulosa, Acer macrophyllum, Saxifraga cf. marshallii, Rubus procerus, Marah oreganus, Lomatium sp. Often on bare ground or in grass-forb-moss dominated vegetation. One of the dominant species here with R. californica; both grow in large +/- pure stands and often mixed in the wetter places with no hybridization evident. Leaves slightly succulent; PHOTOS show a gold band in the tube/throat (top of gold band ~ top of calyx) and 5 gold spots in upper throat alternating with and overlapping the lobe bases. Another site ca. 0.2 miles north (3359). PARATYPE. [Mounted on same sheet with collection 3557a]. Phenology: Flowers.
