Infrequent shrub 2-2.5 m tall, fruit pale green; each with pubescent fragile papery shell, inside translucent-mucilaginous fleshy pulp with seeds imbedded; fruit clusters pendulous; stem tinted reddish-purple, leaves leathery, paler beneath.
