Short erect shrub to 40-50cm; purple flowers; woody stem; stem shoots with short spreading hairs; leaves ciliate on margins; 1 x 2.5 m patch, growing into the track top, with a small part cut back low to the ground forming a dense brushy mat; not planted, perhaps arising from material inthe dyke fill
