This is a recovery planting from seeds collected by Earl Millhouse in 1947-48. Seedlings were planted along Hellrig Creek, homesteaded in 1911. This planting replaces the grove of old-growth trees that were logged in 1947-48. This whole area was cleared of forest and converted to pasture.
