An area of alkaline periglacial lake plain. Recurrent at sandy swale meargins between upland communities of Sarcobatus vermiculatus-Distichilis stricta and wetland communities of Scirpus americanus or S. nevadensis.
Associated species: Spergularia sp., Distichilis stricta, Hordeum jubatum. Conyza canadensis is present in nearby disturbed habitat.
