Habitats various; talus and shallow soils, in sun. Serpentine rock shelf to the north of road is disintegrating, creating talus slopes of fine gravel above rock shelves; water appears to be pooling on the rock shelves and seeping out at the bottom of the slope, where wet meadow vegetation occurs. No trees inhabit the talus (drought stress?), but many forms do. The Ridgeline above is an ecotone between talus and pine woodland. High diversity area. Quite different from another Lesquerella collection. There is some question whether this id is correct.; Perennial herbs. Flowers bright yellow, foliage gray-green.
