Rocky, gravely soils along open ridgeline. Some areas with Scattered Juniper and other shrubs in rocky or more protected sites. Soils still moist after snowmelt. Mat-forming, with large, yellow flowers. Leaves with appressed, stellate hairs. Ovaries with 4 apical ovules. Leaves oblanceolate-spatulate, abrubtly tapering to petiole. Full bloom. Very common, especially at mid elevations. Duplicates to: IDS, RM, SRP. Phenology: Flowers.
