High alpine tundra and exposed gravelly ridges. Flowers bright yellow. Was D.? corymbosa, and D.cf densifolia. Also fits D. densifolia with broad petals but has short stigmas and therefore fits D. stenopetala as applied to Yukon material. - B.A. Bennett Sep. 2007 confirmed by D.F. Murray, revised to D. aleutica by G.A. Mulligan Nov. 2008. Material taken for DNA study by Kieren Mitchell ARC Research Associate, Australian Centre for Ancient DNA (ACAD) 13 July 2015 #MTRW_YT15_57. The duplicate at DAO897359 barcode01-01000615467 was identified as D. stenopetala by G.A. Mulligan (2009) stems hairy, silicles hairy; styles <0.5; lower leaf surfaces glabrous; margins ciliate; flowers yellow; very compact cushions. Confirmed as D. stenopetala by I.A. Al_shehbaz and S.
