Sloping grassy roadside shoulder, in organic dirt over silty soil, next to agricultural field, with Verbena bracteata, Tanacetum vulgare, Oenothera sp., Plantago major, Trifolium pratense, Euphorbia glyptosperma. 3 x 1-2 m patch of rosettes, few late flowering stems; phyllaries callus-tipped; minute glands present; roadside trimming has created a mat of extensive rhizomes and leafy rosettes.
