Mixed riparian forest on upper bank of Willamette River; steep east-facing slope. Associated taxa: Fraximus latifolia, Acer macrophyllum, Hedera hibernica, Rubus bifrons. Rhizomatous, forming a dense patch ca 6 x 6 meters; leaves 6-19 cm wide; flowers white, fading purplish, with a musty odor, visited by honeybees. Phenology: Flowers.
