On a xeric, rocky ridge in an open sapling-pole Pinus ponderosa. Associated species include Lupinus lepidus, Achillea millefolium, Agropyron spicatum, Gaillarida aristata, Erigeron engelmannii, Selaginella densa, Festuca idahoensis, Bromus brizaeformis, Eriogonum structum, Grindelia nana, and Aristida longiseta. Slope 40%; aspect, southeast. Plants abundant. Phenology: Flowers.
