Shallow reddish clay soil (derived from serpentine) on rocky spur, openings in Jeffrey pine-Calocedrus-fir forest. Densely caespitose, odorous, disk yellow. Leaf tissue was collected from this specimen for DNA extraction, by Joseph Kleinkopf of the UNM Herbarium, for a study on species relationships in Erigeron (Asteraceae: Astereae). July 2, 2024. Phenology: Flowers.
