Active sand dunes with clumps of Salsola tragus, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Corispermum spp., and Ambrosia acanthicarpa, bisected by flowing stream created from canal overflow. Fruits obovate, narrowly winged, convex in cross section, outer surface green to reddish or blackish, mostly with spots; plants taprooted, much branched and forming rounded tumbleweed shape ca 60 cm tall; in sand on lower edge of dunes.
