Forest of Douglas fir and Red Cedar, understory mainly Salal, found on the ground, in troops, mostly on gravely or rocky soil. One of the specimen was fruiting on a pebble (cf. the one with a flat base). SVIMS foray. Specimen carefully dug up and no true sclerotia were found although the coralloid upper branches emerged from a dense knot of hyphae. Species found in abundance that day, mostly in area close to the lake.
