Habitat: Terrestrial, high elevation, beneath spruce and fir. Connate (fused at base) in pairs, scattered. Pileus: Small: 2-4 centimeters across, irregularly convex, surface dry and cracking (despite recent rains and moisture); flesh thick and white. Lamellae: Widely spaced, narrow, decurrent, creamy-white to creamy-yellow. Stipe: 4.0 centimeters long, 1.3 centimeters thick at widest point (at apex), tapering towards base; fleshly, interior white and solid, exterior whitish to beige. Spore Deposit: Preseumably white. Odor: pleasant like a chanterelle. Taste: pleasant, slightly fruity and nutty at the same time - quite enjoyable. Microscopic features: Perhaps I can't get a thing enough section to determine gill hyphae structure. Spaces at 43x in KOH: hyaline, thin-walled, broadly tear-shaped or like a sunflower seed.
