Approximately 15 km SSW of Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve Headquarters. Just east of Lava lake. Elev. 1591 m.

Ass. sp.: Rhizoplaca peltata (Ramond) Leuckert & Poelt.¶Ass. sp.: Rhizoplaca chrysoleuca (Sm.) Zopf.¶Substrate: Fully exposed mesic steeply inclined lava.¶Habitat: Sagebrush (Artemisia arbuscula) dominated steppe with scattered Big sage (A.tridentata). Soils heavy with much luss, resulting in run-off and stagnant water in depressions after winter snowmelt. Phenology: Unknown.
