Plot is on an old Columbia River bed of rounded river stones, with west edge of plot at the river's edge. Site is an open-grown stand of mature PIPO and LAOC. Oldest whorls of many of PIPO are brown. Site may be "droughty" with warm temperatures. Lichens appear healthy, with Hypphy, Nodabb, Bryfus, Letvul and Tucpla dominating. A green crust covers most trees, and Xanthoria and Phyads are found in small amounts on the two POTR on plot. Slope 7%. Aspect 295°. Abundance code: 4-3. Substrate: PIPO br.
