Fire has occurred since the last visit. All living trees are moderately to badly scarred. Most PIPOs seemed to survive the fire. Some CELE still living, but 1/4-1/3 are dead. Low abundance in shrub layer. Ground is covered with grass species and herbs. Layer of needles on forest floor. The N/NE quad of plot towards the edge of plot is badly burned. Mature and young PIPO killed. CELE also killed . Much higher abundance of forbes in this part of plot. There is a shallow, seasonal drainage that runs SW-NE thru northern side of plot ctr ~10 ft away. Lichen diversity high, 30 packets collected, lichens survived on many branches on al woody sp that were heat killed. NNE lichens in worst condition, showing bleaching of algae, or partly living.
