On state land bordering a clearcut to the east and a wet area (possibly a stream) to the west. Predominately PSME overstory 80 to 100 years and some ACMA and ALRU interspersed. On the west side in the wetter area the ALRU is dominant with ACMA, THPL and PSME understory. POMU and BENE are thick for the ground layer - lots of overlap on ground coverage. Soil has a thick humus layer and is often mossy. All hardwoods are mossy and PSME holes are spattered with Cladonia. A small draw runs to the north of the plot varying the topography a bit. Large old stumps - this area was cut and burned in the past. A few trees are marked with paint indicating this area might be cut in the future although there are no timber sale boundaries established. Overall, the lichen community was fairly diverse for an urban site - Ramfar, Sphglo, Platismatia, Hypogymnia, Cetraria and Usnea. Parsul, Hypphy and other pollution tolerant species were very abundant, relatively speaking. This site also had a lot of downed wood. Slope 20%. Aspect 338°. Abundance code: 2.
