Opening in fir forest, snowmelt meadow with Pseudotsuga, Calocedrus, Acer glabrum, Arctostaphylos patula, Eriogonum, Erythronium grandiflorum, Orogenia, Delphinium, Claytonia lanceolata, Lewisia, Veratrum, Mertensia, Phlox diffusa. Perennial herb, buds not quite open. Common.
