Washington: Klickitat County: Along rd to Cle Elum 4 mi W of Thorp.
Rocky benchland on S side of the river in semi-meadow land, along small intermittent stream. All plants (hundred of them) with greatly congested panicles (semicapitate), and with short, brittle, rhizomes,and numerous budlike offsets; calyx greenish-yellow, the lobes spreading-ascending; petals lacking on all; anthers yellow, filaments rose-tinged, subulate; ovary nearly completely covered by the flat disc at anthesis, soon becoming purplish-rose; plants remarkably uniform. Phenology: Flowers.
