Large, wet Carex meadows with shallow, stagnant pools, and scattered Picea engelmannii and Pinus contorta var. latifolia on rises. Flowers rich pink to medium pink; inflorescesnce varying from broadly ovate (ca. 2 cm long and wide) to elongate (to ca. 6 cm long and 2.5 cm wide), even on the same plant; shrubs 30-60 cm tall, scattered on edges of pools, growing with Spiraea splendens (no definite Spiraea douglasii seen here).
