Stems strongly glaucous, the primocanes greenish; the flowering canes long and trailing (to 12 ft.) and bluish-brown or bluish-purple; spines flattened, some straight, some hooked; leaves greenish on both surfaces, glabrous on the lower surface and only slightly paler than the upper surface; calyx almsot glabrous, but a few stipitate glands; immature fruits greenish, not at all glaucous, glabrous. Phenology: Fruits.
