Brushy shoreline between highway and a large, stagnant pond, with Rosa and Symphoricarpos, pond dominated by Brasenia schreberi and Nuphar polysepala. Ripe fruits purplish-black, juicy, sweet; leaves greenish-hairy below, tips long-acuminate; primocane leaves palmately 5-foliate; young stems and inflorescences stipitate-glandular; fertile stems bearing numerous lateral inflorescences along distal 5-8 dm of length; most individual inflorescences with 12-22 flowers; stems arching, vine-like, forming large patch among Rosa; locally naturalized along ca 200 meter long stretch of pond shore.
