Gentle north aspect; open shrub community. With Crataegus monogyna, Rubus bifrons, Quercus garryana, Oemleria cerasiformis, Agrostis. Somewhat columnar tree, 6 meters tall; leaves wavy margined, not lobed, turning red; buds hairy; sepals persistent on most fruits; fruits yellow, globose, circa 1 centimeter diameter, eaten by robins; naturalized, with several fertile individuals present at this site.¶Single small tree ca. 4 meters tall in drier area several meters back from road; clearly wild, no orchards or homes in immediate area.¶Specimen used for illustration in Revision of Flora of the Pacific Northwest, WTU Herbarium, 2015.
