Idaho: Owyhee County: From the intersection of Hwy 78 and 167 in Grandview, ID, head East on Hwy 78 for 2.1 miles. Take a slight right/continue straight onto Mud Flat Road. Stay on Mud Flat Road for 32.7 miles and turn West onto Antelope Ridge Road. Keep right at the fork for 0.1 miles. Park 1 mile down Antelope Ridge Rd at the intersection with an overgrown two track. The population is on both sides of the road and extends up and down in both directions covering an area of roughly 3 acres. Elev. 5500 ft.

Plants growing in stony sandy loam soils with Artemisia tridentata, Achillea millefolium, Carex sp., Castilleja cusickii, Elymus elymoides, Geranium sp., Hordeum sp., Juniperus occidentalis, Poa secunda, and Purshia tridentata. A perennial plant with erect, cottony-tomentose stems arising from a branched caudex. Primary leaves are basal and palmate, 3-19 cm long, and cottony-tomentose with grayish pilose hairs; cauline leaves are present but are reduced in number (1-4) and size in conparison with the basal leaves. Inflorescences are openly branched in fruit and possess 5-60 bright yellow flowers producing fruits that are smooth, light brown achenes approx. 1.5 mm in length (Ertter & Mansfield, 2007).
