Sunny steep south-facing grassy slope above ditch. Prostrate adventive evergreen shrub 2 meters long; leaves 10-27 x 4.5-16 millimeters wide, shiny, veins slightly sunken-reticulate; 1 fruit/inflorescence; pedicels flexuous, 8-18 millimeters; fruit red, obovoid, shiny, base rounded to cuneate, top +/- flat, 7-8.5 x 6-8 millimeters wide; 4-5 seeds/fruit; landowner verifies this was not planted.¶Single small tree ca. 4 meters tall in drier area several meters back from road; clearly wild, no orchards or homes in immediate area.¶Specimen used for illustration in Revision of Flora of the Pacific Northwest, WTU Herbarium, 2015.
