In vernally moist serpentine-clay grassland, on east facing slope; associated species include Pseudotsuga menziesii, Calocedrus decurrens, Pinus ponderosa, Arbutus menziesii, Arctostaphylos viscida, Lomatium spp. (2 species), Balsamorhiza deltoidea, Dodecatheon hendersonii, Castilleja sp., Lithophragma affine, Lonicera sp., Cercocarpus betuloides, Poa sp. and Viola hallii. Woody shrubs around .5m tall by 2m wide; leaves dark green, stems white; in flower, flowers creamy white; many plants through open area.
