On 40 degree west-facing slope of loose large platey shale and fractured bedrock with Ranunculus multiceps, Phlox alaskensis, Cystopteris fragilis, Hedysarum alpinum, Salix arctica, Saxifraga tricuspidata and Gentianella propinqua. Poorly vegetated <25% mainly open loose rock. Uncommon; Some hairs are present on the tips of the leaves.
