Steppe grassland pattern ground with many basalt rocks and loess. With Opuntia polyacantha, Poa secunda, Agropyron spicatum, Bromus tectorum, Amelanchier alnifolia, Celtis reticulata and Sisymbrium. Amongst basalt rocks of varying sizes covering fine dark brown silty loess. 50-60 deg. slope aspect NW. Occasional in small groups or singly. Loosely repent with long stems and pink/purple corolla. Phenology: Flowers.
