Scattered in orange rhyolite unit extending from southeast side of butte; unit extends down both sides of SE-NW trending ridge. Gravels are very moist below the surface. North side has dryas stringers running nearly up to ridge. South side is <1% vegetated. Growing with Erysimum pallasii, Ranunculus gelidus, Festuca brevissima, Artemisia furcata, Carex rupestris.
