Sandy loam. With Alnus rubra, Thuja plicata, Ranunculus repens, Galium aparine, Equisetum sp., knotweed. Undeveloped land. Plants form dense large clump, nearly 0.1 acre. Other clumps of same plant can be seen in residential yards on and around the Skokomish Reservation, and growing on sheer bluff along highway to south on west side. Culms up to 3 meters tall. 'Variegation' on leaves from infestation of a red mite (not Tetranychus urticae). Locally common. Phenology: Vegetative.
