Gently slopingeast-facing hogback about 50 yards wide; restricted primarily to open top of hogback in rocky soil, in some areas forming about 50% of the sparse vegetative cover; with Stipa lemmonii and hybrid. Plants forming dense tufts, larger ones decaying in center, 6-8 inches high; lower panicle branches usually spreading to at least 45 degrees.¶¶Tissue removed at University of Washington by W. Brightly for dissertation research. 2018 Phenology: Flowers.
