Montana: Deer Lodge County: Settling ponds E & SE of Warm Springs, MT at the headwaters of the Clark Fork River. The collection site is ca. 0.6 mi N of the jct. of MT State Route 48 and US Hwy 10. E-SE of the Warm Springs State Hospital. Elev. 4900 ft.

These settling ponds are part of the systems to recover Cu and other metals for the Anaconda Co.; the settling ponds are E-NE of the major Tailings Pond for Cu recovery. Many aquatics are growing in Fe-loaded ppt. Common aquatics/wetland plants include: Zannichellia palustris, Eleocharis palustris, Scirpus validus, Potamogeton pectinatus, P. berchtoldii, Chara sp., Hippuris vulgaris, Typha latifolia, Triglochin spp., Eriophorum spp.. There are very dense, emergent stands of this Hippuris in some Fe-loaded ppt.. Phenology: Vegetative.
