Mixed forest of A. grandis and Pseudotsuga menziesii, about 20 feet from a wheat field that was made by clearing forest largely of Pinus ponderosa. One partucular tree typically Abies concolor, with stiff, blunt, upturning needles strongly grayish-stomatiferous striped on both sides.* Most other firs in area “good” Abies grandis, but at least two trees seen adjacent to this with more or less evident dorsal stripe of stomata, evidently the introgression toward A. grandis. *in drying over heat the grayish color has been lost. Phenology: Vegetative.
