Full sun to partial shade, treeless gentle slope, southeast aspect, in open, low vegetatrion among scattered herbs. Flowers purple, some plants with purple-spotted leaves; with Fritillaria camschatcensis, Epilobium angustifolium, Geranium erianthum, Heracleum lanatum, Ranunculus occidentalis, Athyrium filix-femina, Iris setosa, Cypripedium guttatum, Botrychium lunaria, B. lanceolatum, B. pinnatum. Phenology: Flowers.
