Hillside boggy area on serpentine soil just above road. With Darlingtonia californica. Also, with Quercus vaccinifolia, Lithocarpus densiflorus, Rhododenron occidentale, Pinus jeffreyi, and Pinus monticola. Plants common but locally restricted to boggy areas or seeps. Lip white, the sepals pale yellowish-green; sts to over 1m tall. Phenology: Flowers.
