Uncommon in gravelly, calcareous soil on an east-facing slope of the bluffs on the west side of the River. With Agropyron spicatum and Oryzopsis hymenoides. Spellenberg's determination notes: "Identification very tentative. Specimen appears to be rhizomatous; in this regard and in the nature of the leaves they are a very good match for A. elliptica A. Nels from Sweetwater Co., Wyo., and Uinta Co., Utah. Fruits are critical for identification." Phenology: Flowers.
