Subcanopy of Quercus garryana woodland; soils: grandiorite residuals; small intermediate stream flows below plant site; assoc.Trillium albidum, Fritillaria affinis, Claytonia perfoliata, Prunus subcordata, Delphinium nuttallianum, Oemleria cerasiformis. specimen represented by photo only. Jeff Macfarlane discovered the plant several years ago and guided me to the location, Jeff works for the Ashland Parks Dept. Frank A. Lang, Darren Borgias and Alex Maksymowicz alerted me to the plant's location; I recommended the parks dept. fence the plant to protect it and the seed crop, as we will try to propagate the plant and restore seedlings to the site; FC. Phenology: flowering.
