Collected 1 m from road at base of small cliff, growing in mineral soil with hint of serpentine, north facing slope, area semi-moist; associated species include Heuchera micrantha, Polystichum imbricans, Symphoricarpos mollis, Rubus sp., Rosa sp., Claytonia sibirica, Cardamine nuttallii var. nuttallii, Montia sp., Poaceae sp. (aff. Elymus), Iris innominata. Herbaceous plant, leaves with various degrees of mottling, most with brown/red mottling on green; flower tepals cream with yellow markings inside at base, inner tepals with appendage, peduncle pink; 50% in bloom, some peduncles branched with up to 6 flower buds, most 2 to 4, many seedlings present, locally abundant.
