Wet, boggy openings in forest of Abies procera and Tsuga heterophylla, with Scirpus microcarpus, Carex, Boykinia occidentalis, Menziesia ferruginea, Blechnum spicant, Sphagnum. Stems ca 15 cm, erect, with weak fibrous roots, not stoloniferous; inflorescences lacking vegetative propagules; tepals ca 2.7 mm, narrowly lanceolate; capsules 3.5-4.5 mm, acute; seeds 1-1.2 mm, narrowly ellipsoid, tailed; plants locally common in wet mud by small pool; no evidence of anthropogenic disturbance at this site.
