1.5 hectare kettle lake surrounded on S side by 0.5 h floating mat dominated by Carex lasiocarpa, C. rostrata, Kalmia microphylla, Vaccinium oxycoccos, Drosera anglica, and D. rotundifolia, which is bordered on the upland side by a moist, moss-covered zone with K. microphylla, Lycopus uniflorus, Agrostis scabra, and V. oxycoccos which grades into a dense stand of 1.5 m shrub Spiraea douglasii. This zone is surrounded by trees of Amelanchier alnifolia and Crategus douglasii with Agrostis stolonifera and Calamagrostis canadensis in the understory. Extensive fen to N of the lake characterized by Carex vesicaria, Salix spp. and scattered patches of Pinus contorta. Surrounding forest mixed with Pipo, Pico, Psme, Thpl, Pimo, and Abgr. Water chem: pH 6.9, conductivity 20 mmhos, hardness 9.2, Ca. 2.5, Mg 0.6, K 0.9, alkalinity 6.5 (all mg/L). On slightly raised, moist to wet moss-covered mat margins with Lycopodium inundatum, Lycopus uniflorus, D. rotundifolia, and K. microphylla. Few, scattered, petals yellow. Phenology: Flowers and Fruits.
