Tall shrub community. Habitat: Western Red Cedar/ Pachistima, Symphoricarpos albus, Salix scouleriana, Rosa spp., Ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, Amelanchier alnifolia. Slope: mod. steep. Exposure: E Soil: basalt-well developed forest, some rocks. Associates-shrubs; Amelanchier alnifolia, Symphoricarpos albus, Acer glabrum, Rosa spp., Physocarpus malvaceus, Holodiscus discolor, Salix scouleriana, Berberis aquifolium. Associates-forbs; Fragaria vesca bracteata, Viola spp., Anemone piperi, Arnica cordifolia, Mitella stauropetals, Taraxacum officinale. Height 4-6' Three R. sanguineum ; 2 in small clearing, 1 in forest, along edge. Conifers about 40-60', ponderosa pine, Douglas fir. All 3 Ribes sanguineum were frim 4-6'; 2 were vigorous, (1 in the clearing, 1 in the forest), and the other one in the clearing was mostly dead branches. All 3 were about 20' apart from each other. None showed any browsing evidence. No dead Ribes plants. Notes by: D.S. Ardema 05/19/76. Phenology: Flowers.
