open meadow; clay residuals (volcanic); with Q. kelloggii, Q. garryana, Ceanothus cuneatus, exotic grasses scan and maps only; Single tree 40' tall 15" dbh, discovered by Victor Gardener some 83 years ago as a young lad. Victor (now 91) walked me to the site. 3 seedlings were noted; said to be 1st report Jackson Co but see SOC18215 Phenology: vegetative.
